The third-generation Porsche Cayenne features revised yet understated styling, MLB platform and a refreshed interior. It’s lighter too, thanks to the extensive use of aluminum and other weight-saving materials which have been used in its construction. An 8-speed Tiptronic S transmission, rear-axle-steering borrowed from the 911 and Panamera and the latest version of the Porsche Communication Management system are the other major highlights.
The engines are smaller than the second-gen SUVs, but more powerful. A 340 hp, 3.0-liter single-turbo V6 power the Cayenne while a 440hp, 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 lives under the hood of the Cayenne S. All numbers – power and acceleration – are superior to the model that it replaces.
